About

Procurement first, code second

I build the systems, sites and tools that replace the by-hand version of the work, and I spent five years doing that work myself before I wrote any of the code.

The short version

Five years in procurement and supply chain before the code: tender evaluation at Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, procurement and finance management at Fresh Zone, supplier disputes and inventory control at Zibli, and four field seasons supervising enumerators for ESOKO and Ghana Statistical Service.

That is the reason the software is any good. I did not build an ERP because I know NestJS. I built it because I knew what a goods received note is for, and also know NestJS.

Where I have worked

  • GreenEarth Agro Industries

    March 2026 to present

    Factory Manager · Ajumako, Ghana

    • Run the daily operation of a palm kernel processing facility: procurement, production, labour and buyers.
    • Own procurement of palm kernel seed, the facility's primary raw material, from sourcing through receipt and payment.
    • Plan and supervise daily production runs, optimising throughput against raw material, labour and plant capacity.
    • Maintain the supplier master record and the buyer register, and report a daily snapshot of factory activity to executives overseas.
    • Operate, every day, the ERP I designed and built for this facility, which is the tightest feedback loop a developer can have on their own system.
  • GreenEarth Agro Industries

    August 2025 to March 2026

Full-stack Developer and Technology Project Coordinator · Ajumako, Ghana

    • Designed and built an eight-module ERP replacing Excel reporting across factory and farm.
    • Built a farmer-facing mobile application connecting 100+ smallholders to the processing facility.
    • Reduced operational data discrepancies by 80% and recovered roughly 20 hours a week of manual reporting.
    • Coordinated with UNICEF StartUp Lab mentors to secure prototype funding and technical support.
  • Omnisoft Africa

    April 2025 to May 2025

Product Development Intern, MEST Africa Immersion · Remote

    • Built a property maintenance request system for the ImmoAsk marketplace, with role-based flows for landlords and tenants, image upload, and a live preview that updates as the form is filled.
    • Architected a dynamic inventory system generating unlimited itemised entry and exit records, with per-item image compression and state preserved across navigation.
    • Integrated posting to four social platforms behind one abstraction layer: OAuth 2.0 linking, token refresh, per-platform adapters and content formatting, rather than four parallel integrations.
  • Ghana Statistical Service, IBES I

    January to February 2024

    Enumerator · Breman Asikuma, Ghana

    • Enumerated every business in assigned zones using computer-assisted personal interviewing.
    • Synchronised and transmitted field data daily, clearing flags raised by the data-quality team.
  • ESOKO, Ghana National Household Registration

October 2022 to February 2023, and October to December 2023

Team Supervisor · Ajumako and Breman Asikuma, Ghana

    • Supervised twelve enumerators across two field seasons at 100% data-quality compliance.
    • Reconciled daily returns against structural listing datasets, catching anomalies before they reached the data-quality team.
    • Ran the computer-assisted interviewing tooling in the field and fixed it there, which is where I learned what happens to software when the signal drops.
  • Zibli Technological Agency

    August 2022 to July 2023

    Procurement Assistant · Ashaiman, Ghana

    • Ran the procurement cycle from requisition to purchase order, against policy and audit requirements.
    • Cut excess inventory by 15% through stock-level optimisation and demand forecasting.
    • Resolved supplier disputes and ran supplier audits against performance standards.
  • Fresh Zone Fruits and Vegetables

    January 2020 to June 2022

Procurement Manager and Finance Manager · Ashaiman, Ghana

    • Reduced procurement costs by 20% through vendor negotiation and cost modelling.
    • Owned the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from needs assessment through contract management, which is the process the ERP procurement module was later modelled on.
    • Held supplier relationships across perishable categories, where a late delivery is a write-off. That constraint is why the inventory module tracks batches rather than totals.
  • Ghana National Petroleum Corporation

    September 2019 to August 2020

Procurement Unit, National Service · Tema, Ghana

    • Participated in tender openings and drafted evaluation reports for goods and services.
    • Maintained receipt records and inventory control against user-department orders.
    • Worked to public-sector procurement compliance standards.
