The problem
Smallholder farmers around Ajumako had no direct route to the processing facility. Selling produce and requesting funding for the next planting both ran through intermediaries and paper.
What was built
An offline-first Expo application with Supabase behind it. Farmers request funding for agricultural activities and sell produce directly through the platform.
The interface is designed for low-literacy users, which mostly means fewer words, larger targets, and icons that mean something without a caption. Authentication and real-time synchronisation both had to keep working where the signal does not.

In hindsight
Onboarded the first hundred farmers within four months of launch, with 85% retention. Secured prototype funding and technical support through the UNICEF StartUp Lab.
